Makerspace projects: The MadLab of Genova

A good example of a combination of educational projects and maker culture!

We are talking about the Makerspace “MadLab” in Genoa that included our Felfil Evo in their FabLab equipment.

The makerspace opened in October 2015 and has been used from Genoa citizen as a place where people can create and learn about auto-production thanks to Additive Manufacturing technologies and thanks to many laboratories realised also for the youngest with the collaborations between different organizations.

Passion and hard work

The MadLab is a small institution in the Maddalena district of Genoa: the team is composed of guys who use their knowledge in new technologies to create a place full of 3D printing scientific educational labs.

This Lab has also some customers yet: private citizen and merchants who need to repair an object or spare parts. Here the iterview of Mario Gagliardi from “Il Laboratorio”

I campioni dell'economia circolare: il Mad Lab di Genova

Potremo mai aggiustare i nostri oggetti con pezzi di ricambio ottenuti dalla bioplastica o dalla plastica dei tappi di bottiglia? A Genova è già possibile. Grazie al Mad Lab della Maddalena, dove si aggiustano gli oggetti con una stampante 3D che impiega materiali eco-compatibil. Un piccolo miracolo di #economiacircolare nei carrugi del porto vecchio.Scopri tutti i campioni dell'economia circolare, qui -> http://www.trenoverde.it/campioni

Ecological culture Initiative

Several initiatives regarding the ecological culture born with the collaboration between  MadLab Genova and the Robotics School: we would like to mention the # ilmare3d project which aims to introduce children, students, makers and others to the effects of plastics pollution in the sea in relation to the responsibility of protection that each one of us has towards the environment.

Several initiatives regarding the ecological culture born with the collaboration between  MadLab Genova and the Robotics School: we would like to mention the # ilmare3d project  funded by COSTA CROCIERE FOUNDATION, which aims to introduce children, students, makers, citizen and institutions to the effects of plastics pollution in the sea in relation to the responsibility of protection that each one of us has towards the environment.

All this happens to realize innovative solutions for the recovery of abandoned fishing gear and plastics from cleaning of coasts and seabed.

This material, once treated, will be transformed by a filament with a filament extruder to be used in conjunction with 3d printers to create useful objects for various activities: snorkelling, cleaning and educational etc.

For the educational purpose is available on the website a section “Education” and an educational kit for free download to realize small workshops in the primary school classes.
